Aztec Tattoo-New Hand Tattoo Ideas

Religious Symbol Tattoos

Leviticus 19:28 states, “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you”. Not to engage in a biblical debate or anything, but Leviticus also states that only royalty can wear the color purple, and that if a man touches a woman while she is menstruating, he must bathe in the river of Jordan. Anyway, some Christians take this to mean that scarring, cutting, piercing or tattooing oneself in any way is a desecration of the body–and the body is a temple of God. Others argue that that verse applies to other false, un-Christian religious practices, or that believers of the New Testament are not bound by Old Testament laws. Some proponents of Christianity mistakenly believe that tattoos are rooted in paganism or witchcraft. Regardless, tattoos of religious symbols are a popular choice of body art among Christians and many other denominations.

A religious symbol is any image or archetype that expresses an idea, teaches a moral or brings the wearer closer to his or her God or gods. A tattoo does not have to be particular to Christianity to be considered a religious mark. Although some of the more common religious tattoos show up in the form of crosses or crucifixes, Buddhist images (along with Hebrew writing, Celtic, Islamic, Hindu and Ancient Egyptian symbols, even the Chinese yin-yang) all fall under the category of religion.

Traditional Henna Tattoo - Great Art in 20 minutes!

traditional henna tattoo design
Here is another photo of henna tattoo. This pattern was done at The Midnight Sun in about 20 minutes. This is a free hand pattern, or a "Chef's Choice" henna tattoo.

Art like this takes about 20 minute to complete. If you choose to have a spritz of the lemon sugar glaze applied to secure the henna paste to the skin, you may want to wait an additional 10 minutes for the henna paste to dry a bit before the glaze goes on.

Henna tattoo is a heat activated art form. As temperatures in Jacksonville Florida become cooler.. henna will no longer be offered on a walk-in basis at the Midnight Sun.

Henna gives the best finished color in the summer time because the weather is warmer, we tend to sweat.. thus the pores open & the henna paste can penetrate the skin.

Also, when we are sweating, our perspiration  helps the paste stay moist on the skin.. and this also helps to get a good finished color.

Henna parties are still a good way to experience henna during the cooler months. For more information about henna parties, please contact Ann George Studios, Inc. via the Spirit Vision Henna website.

Henna Tattoo for Women of Color

Here is one of many photos taken at a spa day party I was so happy to attend.

Many people see photos of henna tattoo on European skin and think that perhaps henna will not give a good result of different shades of skin.

Mehandi is not a European art form, but comes from the cultures of Africa, India and the Middle East.

Henna stains best on the palms of the hands for people of all races and skin types. The next best color of stain occurs when the henna is applied to the back of the hand.

This photo features a simple, yet elegant henna pattern applied to the back of the hand.

This is not black henna, rather a photo of the paste on the skin.

Notice how the pattern makes the hand more lovely.

Good henna designs always make the hand more attractive.

All henna tattoo is by Ann George of Spirit Vision Henna - photos are taken by Ann George & are protected by copyright.

Here are a few more images from the same spa day.

Please notice that while all are henna tattoo designs for the back of the hand, each is different, and compliments the style of each woman.

Cute Flower Tattoos For Woman

I like designing flower tattoos more than others. Flower tattoos are mostly favored by women, they are like clothes accessories except that you can wear your tattoo to bed. It’s like having a piece of art with you all the time. I find women with tattoos more appealing, sexier, more feminine and more powerful.

The image of a tattoo can be so captivating that it stirs up all our senses. You can have a Rose tattoo with a barbed wire around it and still look very good. It’s Ying and Yang, loving and sweet but authoritative and intimidating. But if you are intending to ink a flower tattoo on your body, it’s best to find out the meaning of the flower and what you want it to represent. You can then combine different images to give contrasting impressions of your tattoos.
